With construction on the 2nd Avenue Subway nearing completion, there is another, smaller sign of progress above ground.
That's a new look for this newly reopened public plaza at the northwest corner of 63rd Street and Third Avenue, near the 63rd Street station.
It is going to link to three new stations along Second Avenue.
The plaza features aluminum alloy benches, new landscaping, lighting and bicycle racks.
It had previously closed during construction of the new line, which the MTA hopes to open by the end of the year.
