An ice jam on Cazenovia Creek forced the closure of the Stevenson Street bridge in South Buffalo Tuesday, almost two weeks after 100 homes were flooded.
The ice is approaching the bottom of the bridge but it's not jamming at this time. Still, the water level is rising.
There have been preliminary reports of flooding and an excavator has been moved near both the Stevenson Street bridge and the Southside Parkway bridge. The excavator will help remove ice from the river to keep the water moving.
Elsewhere, city crews were working to address flooding in the 700 block of Lafayette, where several inches of water covered the street.
