Gov. Kathy Hochul launched a plan Tuesday to recruit thousands of federal workers for the state.
It’s being called the “You’re Hired” initiative. The goal is to recruit federal workers who were let go under the recent cuts by the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, or “DOGE.”
This comes as there are mixed messages from the Trump administration over a mass email asking federal employees to report what they accomplished last week.
After the government’s HR agency said responses were encouraged but voluntary, Elon Musk is saying otherwise.
It also comes as more than 20 civil service employees resigned from DOGE, saying they refused to use their technical expertise to “dismantle critical public services.”
Suzanne Golberg, Columbia Law professor, joined “The Rush Hour” on Tuesday to talk about the legality of these moves by the Trump administration.
