Earlier this week a former aide to Andrew Cuomo dropped her federal sexual harassment lawsuit against the former governor.

Charlotte Bennett was the second of several former aides who had claimed Cuomo sexually harassed them and Bennett alleged that conduct continued after she filed her claim, accusing Cuomo’s legal team of being punitive in their demands for medical records issuing subpoenas to her acquaintances.

“Former Governor Andrew Cuomo can no longer use this lawsuit to harass me and my family. His abusive filings and invasive subpoenas are meant to humiliate and retaliate against me,” Bennett said in a statement.

Former Secretary to then-Governor Cuomo Melissa DeRosa joined “The Rush Hour” on Friday to discuss the lawsuit.

DeRosa had strong words for Gov. Kathy Hochul about her handling of the lawsuit. She also commented on the political future of Andrew Cuomo, and his possible mayoral candidacy.

“Mr. Cuomo has used these legal proceedings to punish Ms. Bennett and others who reported his sexual harassment, and to cause more harm to her, all at the expense of New York taxpayers," Benett's lawyer lawyer Debra Katz said in a statement. "We will continue to seek justice in our action against the State of New York.”
