Ken Burns has spent decades chronicling the American story through iconic documentaries such as the Civil War, baseball, jazz, and the Roosevelts.

For the first time, Burns looks beyond America to explore the genius of one of history’s greatest minds, Leonardo da Vinci.

In his new two-part, four-hour film on PBS, Burns collaborates with his daughter Sarah Burns and her husband David McMahon to examine the life and work of the 15th century mastermind.

Burns joined “The Rush Hour” on Thursday to discuss his latest documentary.
