September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month.

According to the National Cancer Institute, childhood cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death past infancy in children and adolescents.

The month of September is a time to honor children and families impacted by cancer and highlight research efforts.

The Eli Sunshine Fund is an organization that is actively involved in raising awareness and funding research and trials aimed at discovering a cure for Ewing sarcoma.

Hayley Friedman Morrison, founder of the Eli Sunshine Fund, and Dr. Julia Glade Bender, pediatric oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, joined “The Rush Hour” on Monday to discuss Eli’s story and the organization.
