A new version of IKEA is arriving at 570 Fifth Avenue at 47th Street in Manhattan.
The project is a 1 million square-foot mixed-use building that will offer an IKEA customer “meeting point,” a new concept that offers tailored support for customers who are making larger and complex purchases.
IKEA is set to occupy 80,000 square-feet of the tower which aims to open for commercial tenants in 2028.
The plan is part of the city’s “great reopening” that has been gradually happening since the pandemic when fewer than 10% of the city’s office workers were going in five days a week.
Tom Vecchione, a real estate expert, joined “The Rush Hour” on Tuesday to discuss this project.
