There has been a boom in American Single Malt in recent years.

The Tax Trade Bureau is now creating a new designation of American Single Malt, much like there is for Bourbon and Rye.

Just a two-hour train ride from Grand Central, in Wassaic, New York, Tenmile Distillery is returning to the traditional methods of making whisky.

Joel LeVangia, the owner and general manager of Tenmile Distillery, and Shane Fraser, master distiller at Tenmile, joined “The Rush Hour” on Tuesday to discuss the rise of American Single Malt and being the state’s only single malt whisky distillery.
