The Erasmus Hall football team is used to playing in big games.

That’s good news — but next week the high schoolers will be on the world stage, playing in London against the U.K.-based NFL Academy team.

“It’s more because of the media it’s a big game — but to me it’s really just the same, it’s the same type of game, just more cameras,” Josira Andrews, a senior and captain of the team, said.

The NFL Academy is a player development program for international student athletes, and Erasmus Hall is a Brooklyn public school football powerhouse that has won the last four PSAL championships. Next Tuesday, they’ll bring their talent to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“It’s a great opportunity — I’m very excited to go and play but I’m more excited to do a little more team bonding, chemistry, experience a new country, get out of Brooklyn, get out of New York,” Josira said.

Before they leave on Thursday, the city sent them off with a pep rally at the education department’s Tweed Courthouse headquarters.

“You’re representing more than Erasmus,” Schools Chancellor David Banks told the team. “You’re representing even more than Brooklyn, you’re representing even more than New York — you’re representing your families, you’re representing your country. This is a big deal guys, ok? And whatever ya’ll do, make sure you win the game!”

Coach Danny Landberg says it’s not just about the football game they’ll play on the trip — it’s about the things they’ll learn as they travel and represent their city and country abroad.

“Football is a sport, it’s a game — but we’re trying to teach them about the game of life and I think that helping them understand what responsibilities are is what makes you a man — and that’s what were trying to establish here,” he said.
