Andrés Guardado is one of soccer’s brightest stars. He is also the captain of the Mexican national soccer team.

Guardado has had an impressive career, which has included playing for some of the best professional clubs in Europe.

He said fan support is what will fuel him in what will be his fifth and final FIFA World Cup.

"For me it is amazing, I feel the passion for fútbol," Guardado said.

Passion describes how lots of fans, particularly Latinos, feel about soccer.

Guardado says Latino fans are affectionate, warm and transparent.

Many fans have submitted videos showcasing their abilities for an opportunity to meet Guardado and share their skills with him. The winner will appear alongside Guardado in a new Spectrum Mobile campaign promoting this year's World Cup in Qatar.

The wait for the most-watched sporting event in the world is almost over. The 2022 World Cup begins on Nov. 20 — it will be the 22nd edition of the competition.

"I hope everyone has a renewed hope coming into this year’s World Cup," Guardado said in Spanish.

He added that he feels a responsibility to help younger players on his team.

Guardado wears No. 18, which has become the lucky number for one of the best midfielders of the game.

You can catch Guardado wearing his lucky number on Spectrum using any of your devices during this year's World Cup.
