“He did have a lot of anger issues and he would yell at his mom. He would yell at my mom. There were times we didn’t know what to do,” McKoy said. “He needed a place to stay, so we took him in and let him stay here for a couple of months.”
McKoy said he’s glad his family threw him out when they did.
Police said they responded to a 911 call just after 5 a.m. Sunday from a woman saying her cousins were being stabbed.
Officers soon arrived at Beach 22 Street in Far Rockaway.
Police said Gordon pulled out a knife and stabbed two officers — one in the head and the other in the neck. One of the officers shot Gordon to death.
“Thank God, these officers responded. How many more victims could there have been,” PBA President Patrick Hendry said.
According to officials, the incident occurred shortly after Gordon allegedly stabbed five other people who McKoy said were his relatives.
Police said four were stabbed to death — two of them were 11 and 12 years old. The fifth person, a 61-year-old woman, is in critical condition and is Gordon’s aunt.
McKoy described how his cousin acted when living at his home.
“He would scream very loud at the top of his lungs,” he said.
McKoy said the family members came by the home in the Bronx Monday.
“We’re trying to make sense of it all, too. I don’t know where this came from,” he said.
