ROCHESTER, N.Y. —A grand jury has handed up a 104-count indictment against real-estate developer Bob Morgan, as well as Todd Morgan, Frank Giacobbe, and Michael Tremiti.
The men are accused in a wide-ranging mortgage fraud scheme spanning from 2007 to 2019.
Prosecutors say the fraud totaled more than $12 million.
Prosecutors say the defendants conspired to fraudulently obtain funds from financial institutions and government sponsored enterprises.
According to court paperwork, the defendants are said to have provided false information to lenders in support of applications for mortgage loans and submitted inflated and false rent rolls.
Prosecutors say the loss sustained by financial institutions and government sponsored enterprises was upwards of $12 million.
The defendants are charged with wire and bank fraud, and face up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
These charges come after a judge dismissed a more than 100-count indictment on similar charges in October, saying prosecutors mishandled evidence in their investigation.
