COLUMBIA, S.C. — A new political poll shows South Carolina Lt. Gov. Pamela Evett leading among Republican voters in the 2026 gubernatorial race.

National political pollster The Trafalgar Group, surveyed 1,127 “likely” Republican voters March 8-10 and found over 31% favored Evette.

According to the survey, U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s First Congressional District, came in second with 29.1%.

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson followed with 27.9%, and U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman, who represents the state’s Fifth Congressional District, came in last with 11% support.

The polls also found that the majority of South Carolina Republicans are in favor of President Donald Trump’s work in office so far.

Over half of the participants said they were over the age of 65, and roughly 90% selected white as their ethnicity.

Poll coordinators report a 2.9% margin of error.
