Demonstrators in opposition to President Donald Trump's agenda gathered in Washington Square Park Monday.
The most notable speakers at the rally organized by left-wing and activist groups were actress Susan Sarandon and Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein.

- The demonstrators marched through Manhattan after the rally
"We're here today to celebrate and encourage the fight against this oligarcy, which is not just in this administration but everywhere," Sarandon said. "And to the pledge to fight for the rights of workers, women, the LGBTQ community and immigrants and their families."
Supporters of the pro-Palestinian movement dominated the demonstration, speaking alongside immigrant, environmental and anti-corporate activists.
"The Israeli apartheid state is collapsing," Stein of the Green Party told the demonstrators.
Rallygoers in the crowd talked about the message they want their attendance to send.
"I think Donald Trump and his cronies represent everything wrong with American politics, with corporations and billionaires concentrating so much power within their own sphere of influence," protester Jared Bowser said.
Protestor Ruth Lande said she came out "to defend women's rights to reproductive freedom, very important to me, and just in general, the plight of working people in this country rather than tax cuts for millionaires."
"This is a sad day, I'm very, very nervous about this administration," said Lande, who had participated in Women's Marches during Trump's first term.
Unlike those marches, there were no pink hats — the hallmark of the demonstrators who protested after Trump's first inauguration. Nor were there any signs from the Dermocratic Party — many demonstrators instead held signs for the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
"People feel unilaterally betrayed and failed by both sides," said Hakeem Adeyemi, holding a sign for the Party of Socialism and Liberation. "I think Donald Trump won because he at least offered some semblence of change and the Democrats refused to offer any vision of change after the four years that we experienced."
There were some pro-Israel Trump supporters who demonstrated on the other side of the park.
"I feel like we're the majority. People who voted for Trump are the majority, people who love America are the majority. America is has a pro-Israel majority," Yoni Kletzel said.
