The Harris campaign previously said it and its affiliated committees raked in $310 million in July, while the Trump campaign and its committees raised $139 million. Allied committees are not required to report their fundraising numbers until October.

While supporters can donate to various organizations backing a candidate, the money going directly to campaigns can be a key metric because campaigns by law receive discounts on television advertising.

The Trump campaign still maintained the advantage in cash on hand at the end of July, with $219.7 million compared to Harris’ $151.3 million, according to the FEC filings.
