Mayor Eric Adams’ campaign has confirmed a New York Times report that says Mayor Adams and his 2021 campaign have been served subpoenas in a federal probe.

The Times reports that three federal subpoenas were served sometime last month, and that a number of materials were requested, including text messages and other communications.

In a statement, Brendan McGuire, who is counsel to the mayor and to the campaign, said that "we have not identified any evidence of illegal conduct by the Mayor."

McGuire added that they "are in the process" of responding to the subpoenas.

No charges have been filed against Adams or his campaign at this time.
