When news of the leaked Supreme Court opinion broke on Monday, Emiliana Guereca, founder of the Women’s March Foundation, said her phone began ringing nonstop.

Women around the country immediately planned to mobilize at abortion rights rallies by Tuesday afternoon as California Gov. Gavin Newsom vowed to protect women’s reproductive rights.

If California were to become a sanctuary state for abortion care, the state could see a 3,000% increase in out-of-state women seeking the procedure.
