NEW YORK — The second impeachment of former president Donald Trump will proceed after the U.S. Senate voted on Tuesday that the trial is constitutional, dismissing Trump's defense team’s argument that it would be unconstitutional to prosecute a former president. Trump faces a charge of incitement of insurrection over his conduct leading up to the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Rep. Carolyn Maloney, whose district covers parts of Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, joined anchor Errol Louis on Inside City Hall to talk about the trial. Maloney also talked about the Insurrection Financing Transparency Act, which she introduced, and vaccination efforts in her district.
