NEW YORK — Election Day is three weeks away, but voters have already started to head to the polls in several states where early voting is underway.

Monday, in Georgia, voters had to wait for hours to cast their vote, with lines wrapped around buildings. According to state officials, more than 125,000 people voted on the first day of early voting across Georgia, a record turnout.

In New York, polls open October 24 for early voting, and the city Board of Elections has already experienced some hiccups as it prepares for the upcoming election.

Errol Louis speaks to two experts about challenges to the voting process: Michael Waldman, the president of the Brennan Center for Justice at the NYU School of Law, and Ali Najmi, an elections attorney who was recently involved in several lawsuits against the New York State Board of Elections and the U.S. Postal Service over absentee ballots.
