Queens Assemblyman Michael DenDekker has been in office since 2009, but he’s facing a primary challenge, including from three Democrats who worked on Tiffany Caban’s near-victorious campaign for Queens district attorney in 2019.
Errol Louis moderates a debate between those four Democrats running in the 34th State Assembly District:
- DenDekker
- Labor organizer Joy Chowdhury
- Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas, the former executive director of the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health
- Former prosecutor Nuala O'Doherty-Naranjo
The district includes the neighborhoods of Jackson Heights, East Elmhurst, and parts of Woodside and Corona.
