Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his longtime celebrity chef girlfriend, Sandra Lee, have parted ways after being together for 14 years.

Sources close to the couple told NY1 on Wednesday that over the last several weeks, the former couple has been telling friends that they've decided to be "best friends" but "are no longer a couple."

The two had been living together at Lee's six-bedroom estate in New Castle known as "Lily Pond." That Westchester County house was put on the market this past spring, but sources said the two have been living apart for months. Cuomo's official schedules show he has been living full time at the Governor's Mansion in Albany.

There were signs of the split going back months. Lee skipped Cuomo's nomination for a third term as governor on Long Island last year, instead sending a video message. And earlier this year, a family Easter egg hunt at the mansion in Albany, usually hosted by Lee, was canceled. A month later, their home went on the market.

However, when Page Six reported that the couple had split, a Cuomo spokesperson denied it, saying, "Nothing has changed."

In March 2015, Lee was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy. Her journey was chronicled in the 2018 HBO documentary "Early Detection; A Cancer Journey With Sandra Lee." Cuomo is featured in the documentary, along with his daughters, who have stayed close with Lee.

In a statement, the former couple said, "Over the recent past, we have realized that our lives have gone in different directions and our romantic relationship has turned into a deep friendship. We will always be family and are fully supportive of each other and dedicated to the girls. Our personal lives remain personal and there will be no further comment."
