Sources tell NY1 former mayor Rudy Giuliani is in the hospital after injuring his right leg during a fall.
The 73-year-old was rushed to the emergency room Sunday.
He underwent surgery on a tendon in his quadriceps.
Giuliani was on vacation in Long Island when things took a turn for the worse.
He served as mayor from 1994 to 2001 and is credited with improving the city's quality of life during his tenure. But he was also criticized for implementing the broken windows method of policing.
Giuliani is now an informal cybersecurity adviser to the White House.
Sources say he's expected to make a full recovery.
