"Elf"
The holidays have arrived early on The Main Stem thanks to a new revival of “Elf” the musical! “Elf” is based on the beloved 2003 Will Ferrell film about an elf named Buddy who travels from the North Pole to New York City in search of his father. Taking on Buddy for the revival is Tony-nominated actor Grey Henson. “Elf” begins previews at The Marquis Theatre on Saturday. Opening night is set for November 17.

On the off-Broadway front, down at New York Theatre Workshop, check out “We Live in Cairo.” The musical is set against the backdrop of the Arab Spring. In the show, audience members are introduced to a group of student activists who use their art to help overthrow a regime. For tickets, head to nytw.org.
