“How To Dance In Ohio”

The new musical “How to Dance In Ohio,” based on the award-winning documentary, will begin performances at The Belasco Theatre on Wednesday night. This heartfelt show about connection and bravery centers around a group of autistic young adults as they prepare for their spring formal. Opening night for “How to Dance in Ohio” is set for Dec. 10. 

“South”

On the off-Broadway front - don’t miss “South” now in performances at SoHo Playhouse. “South” is a new acoustic musical about family and belonging, written and performed by Florencia Iriondo. “South” runs through Nov. 15. For more information, go to sohoplayhouse.com.

“Redwood”

Over at Ensemble Studio Theatre in Midtown on 52nd Street catch “Redwood.” According to press notes, the new play by Brittany K. Allen “ponders the project of interracial family making in a haunted country”. The show is running through Nov. 12. For tickets, go to ensemblestudiotheatre.org.

“I Just Wanted You to Know”

And finally, looking ahead to Saturday, Nov. 18, catch NY1’s very own photojournalist, Roberto Araujo, on stage at The Green Room 42 in “I Just Wanted You to Know." In his latest act, Araujo will take audiences on a very personal journey exploring themes of “identity, immigration, love, family, racism, acceptance and belonging” and all backed by the music of Stephen Sondheim, David Yazbek and more.
