With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. “On Stage” host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond.
“Harmony: A New Musical”
Direct from a sold out run downtown, the Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman musical Harmony is now in previews at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Set in Berlin in the 20s and 30s, the show recounts the true story of the Comedian Harmonists — an internationally renowned singing group who by 1935 — were never heard of again. DiLella caught up with Manilow and Sussman earlier this week to discuss the Broadway debut of Harmony.
“Stereophonic”
On the off-Broadway front, check out “Stereophonic” now playing at Playwrights Horizons. In this new work by David Adjmi, the spotlight is on a music studio in the mid-70s where some up-and-coming rockers are on the verge of superstardom.

I Put A Spell On You
On Monday night, Broadway's favorite Jay Armstrong Johnson returns to the stage with his annual Halloween event, I Put A Spell On You. The “Hocus Pocus”-inspired concert meets dance party will feature a handful of Broadway’s best, including Robyn Hurder, Justin Cooley, and more. The evening will serve as a benefit for the LGBTQ+ not-for-profit, the Ali Forney Center.

Alysha Umphress
And finally, after a sold out run last year, Broadway songstress Alysha Umphress returns to Joe’s Pub on Monday night for one night only. The artist promises an evening full of witchy-glam-jazz meets classic rock meets musical theater.
