With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. “On Stage” host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond.

“Merrily We Roll Along”

The critically acclaimed New York Theatre Workshop revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along” has moved uptown to Broadway’s Hudson Theatre. “Merrily” centers around the turbulent journey of three friends Franklin, Charley and Mary played by Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe and Lindsay Mendez. The musical officially opens on Broadway on Oct. 10.

“Dead Man Walking”

Moving to Lincoln Center and The Metropolitan Opera is “Dead Man Walking” directed by Tony Winner Ivo van Hove will open the new season at The Met on Tuesday night. “Dead Man Walking” is based on Sister Helen Prejean’s memoir about her spiritual relationship with a murderer on death row. The opera stars Joyce DiDonato and Ryan McKinny. For information, go to MetOpera.org.

Broadway Forever

On the concert front, don’t miss Broadway Forever this Sunday at Lou Gehrig Plaza in The Bronx. The show is being presented by New York Forever, a not for profit dedicated to creating a stronger future for all New Yorkers. The concert will feature Jordan Fisher, Adam Pascal, the casts of & Juliet, Chicago and the list goes on. I caught up with New York Forever’s Richard Mumby to learn more about the event.
