Looking to take in a show but overwhelmed by the amount of choices? Look no further. "On Stage" host Frank DiLella will be curating a list of “must-see” shows every week, directing you to the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond. Here are his picks for this week.

“The Shark is Broken”

The new play, “The Shark is Broken,” is creating quite a splash at The John Golden Theatre.

The show centers on the making of the classic thriller “Jaws” and the relationship of its three, rather four, stars — Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Roy Scheider and Bruce, the mechanical shark.

Shaw’s son, Ian, wrote the play and is starring in the show opposite Broadway favorites, Alex Brightman and Colin Donnell.

“The Shark is Broken” is currently in previews.

Opening night is scheduled for Aug. 10.

“I’m Gonna Marry You Tobey Maguire”

Over at The Cell Theatre in Chelsea, don’t miss “I’m Gonna Marry You Tobey Maguire.”

The world premiere by Samantha Hurley introduces theatergoers to eighth grader Shelby Hinkley, who is having a rough go at it in life and in school.

So what does Shelby decide to do? Marry Spider-Man himself, Tobey Maguire, of course!

The show is playing now through the end of the month.

Shakespeare in the Parking Lot

A little further downtown, Shakespeare in the Parking Lot is back this year with “The Comedy of Errors.”

The summer tradition is produced by The Drilling Company, and admission is free.

“The Comedy of Errors” runs now through July 29.

Check out drillingcompany.org for the full show schedule.

“Orpheus Descending”

Over in Brooklyn, Tennessee Williams’ “Orpheus Descending” is being presented by Theatre for a New Audience.

The revival stars “Mad Men” and “Billions” actress Maggie Siff and is being directed by Erica Schmidt.

The show is playing at The Polonsky Shakespeare Center through Aug. 6.

At the cabaret

Finally, on the cabaret front, original “Jersey Boys” star Daniel Reichard turns to “"Birdland” on Monday night with his latest show “It’s You I Like.”

The show is being billed as a nostalgic summer-time pick-me-up.

And Broadway veteran Kyle Taylor Parker returns to The Midnight Theatre on Monday with KTP’s Juke Joint Jubilee.

The evening will feature an explosion of blues, beauty and expression.

Parker’s final two shows are July 31 and Aug. 28.
