With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. "On Stage" host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, Off-Broadway and beyond.

“Here Lies Love” at The Broadway Theatre

The disco-pop musical “Here Lies Love” about former First Lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos begins performances this weekend at The Broadway Theatre.

The immersive show features a score by Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award-winner David Byrne and Grammy Award-winner Fatboy Slim.

The musical also features Broadway favorite and Tony Award-winner Lea Salonga.

Opening night is set for July 20.

Broadway celebrates Juneteenth

In honor of Juneteenth, on Sunday, The Broadway League is presenting a celebration in Times Square hosted by Aladdin’s own Michael James Scott.

The free outdoor concert will take place starting at 11 a.m. and will feature more than two dozen Black artists from various Broadway shows — including the upcoming revival of “The Wiz.”

Broadway Bares

Also on Sunday, do not miss the New York theater community’s ultimate burlesque extravaganza — Broadway Bares.

This year’s show is titled “Pleasure Park.”

It will feature appearances by 2023 Tony Award-winner J. Harrison Ghee and another one of my theater faves, Jessica Vosk.

All proceeds benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
