The show famously starred Michael Crawford in the title role opposite Sarah Brightman, who played his leading lady, the character of Christine.
The musical featured direction by the late Hal Prince and, of course, music by celebrated composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
After nearly 14,000 performances and 35 years on Broadway, “The Phantom of the Opera” comes to an end.
“On Stage” host Frank DiLella sat down with Webber to reflect on creating “The Phantom of the Opera.”
