Michael Autovino is a meteorologist for Spectrum News NY1. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Michael grew up watching NY1. He graduated from Xavier High School in Manhattan in 2013, going on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Rutgers University in 2017. While in college, he interned for WNBC in Manhattan and News 12 in the Bronx.
Prior to working at NY1, Michael worked in Knoxville, Tennessee at WATE 6 and in Pocatello, Idaho on KPVI News 6. In 2023, Michael moved to Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, where he was a meteorologist on the CBS Now Newscast, a national show that aired in 10 major television markets across the country.
While at CBS, he covered severe weather across the country, including ice storms, tropical storms and snowstorms. Michael also filled in as needed on weekends and for severe weather on CBS News Texas, the local CBS affiliate.
A team player who is especially passionate about covering extreme weather, Michael loves working in New York City, a longtime dream come true. He currently lives in Brooklyn and enjoys working out during his free time.
