Shannan Ferry is an Emmy Award-winning anchor and reporter who grew up watching NY1. She first joined the newsroom as an intern in 2012 and returned as a freelance reporter in 2014 covering Queens and Staten Island before accepting a full-time role in 2015.

Shannan's role at the station has evolved a lot since then. She now anchors "News All Day" on weekdays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Ferry previously co-anchored the weekend morning program "Weekends On 1" alongside Rocco Vertuccio and had filled in behind the anchor desk throughout the daytime, including many appearances on the weekday morning broadcast "Mornings On 1."

Shannan reported on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic and was one of the main correspondents covering massive demonstrations in New York City after the death of George Floyd. She provided hours of live coverage for several months.

Aside from breaking news, Shannan has also covered high-profile events such as the New Year's Eve Times Square ball drop and New York Fashion Week.

Prior to NY1, Shannan worked as a college associate for Fox News Channel, where she produced stories for their website. She was also the recipient of the 2013 Fox News College Challenge, a nationwide contest awarding a scholarship and internship to the top college newscasters. After winning this award, Shannan appeared on Fox & Friends, as well as a television promotion about the contest which ran on the channel twice a day for several months.

Shannan graduated from Hofstra University magna cum laude in 2014, where she studied broadcast journalism and political science. During her time at Hofstra, she covered national events, including the 2012 presidential debate.

Shannan loves the unpredictability and versatility of reporting. In her free time, she enjoys working out and spending time with her family and friends. She was raised in Little Neck, Queens and she now lives in Manhattan.
