Matt McClure is an award-winning journalist and host who joined NY1 as an anchor/reporter for the Queens unit in 2013. Since then, he has expanded his duties to also include the Rail and Road Report, along with From the Floor.
Matt recently served as an anchor/editor for the Wall Street Journal Radio Network, and as co-host of the national daytime talk show, "The Juice" on Z Living TV.
Also a professional actor and singer, Matt has performed regionally in musicals and plays across the country. Favorite roles include "Seymour" in Little Shop of Horrors, "Smudge" in Forever Plaid, "Herbie" in Gypsy, "Brandon" in Next Fall, and "Joe" (as well as co-director) in Dolly Parton's 9 to 5: the Musical.
Originally from Atlanta, he was an anchor/reporter for the Georgia News Network and WGST-AM from 2004-2009, where he covered high-profile stories such as Brian Nichols' deadly escape from the Fulton County Courthouse.
Matt is the recipient of the 2007 Associated Press Award for Best Anchor/Reporter in Georgia.
After moving to New York in 2009, he anchored a daily newsmagazine show on the cable channel NET.
He has also worked as an anchor/reporter for WNEG-TV in Athens, GA, and WDUN-AM in Gainesville, GA, and PM Drive host for WMJE-FM in Gainesville, GA.
Matt studied journalism and music at Gainesville State College, and acting at New York's prestigious HB Studio.
