NY1.com is the website of Spectrum's 24-hour news channel in New York City.
The website was launched in its original form on October 1, 1996, as part of the now-defunct Pathfinder service under then-owner Time Warner.
Three years later NY1.com got a new, expanded look and the addition of on-demand video clips when the site was redesigned in September of 1999 in conjunction with the launch of the Road Runner cable modem service in New York City.
The site received a makeover when it was upgraded in August of 2008 with in-page video and expanded user features. A Spanish-language companion site, NY1Noticias.com, was launched two months later.
In May of 2010, the news channel launched an iOS app for both NY1 and NY1 Noticias.
NY1.com got a new look in August of 2013 when it was updated with a new design and the addition of live streaming video. Four months later NY1.com was integrated with the company's 15 other news channel websites, as NY1 News itself updated its on-air look.
In December of 2014, the company replaced its collection of news channel apps with a consolidated news app for both iOS and Android, containing on-demand content and live streams from NY1, NY1 Noticias, and the company's 15 other news channels across the country.
In 2015, NY1.com and the company's other news channel websites were upgraded with expanded content and enhanced weather offerings.
Today NY1.com boasts 24/7 live streaming video, an extensive text and video archive dating back to 1999, and a companion app for both phone and tablet.
