The young ladies of Complete Girlz Inc. are important, and they know it.

“My mind is filled with knowledge,” they say in a long list of affirmations. “I am dynamically special. I am a leader and not a follower.”

Asia Lee is their chief cheerleader. “My life is worth living,” the girls said. Lee wants to hear it again.

“And just a little bit louder,” she said, egging them on. “My life is worth living,” the girls say with more power.

Lee has been a volunteer mentor with the girl empowerment nonprofit for two years. The organization is rooted in teaching self-esteem and self-love, supporting young women throughout the city and country.

“The impact that I’m hoping to make is helping amplify wholeness and healing within young girls,” Lee said.

As a professional motivational speaker, a life coach and social media influencer, Lee wants to be the example she needed growing up. She says her experiences with domestic violence and homelessness turned her into a teenage bully.

“I’ve been able to turn my adverse childhood experiences into dynamic adulthood victories. And that’s what I want for everybody,” she said.

After years of development and introspection, the now 29-year-old from the Bronx serves as an ambassador for Complete Girlz Inc and runs workshops.

“When we uplift and empower one another, we uplift and empower ourselves,” Lee said.

The workshops leave a lasting impact with the girls.

“It helped me identify my emotions and also identify who I can go to, who I can talk to,” Simone Harper, a participant and mentor with Complete Girlz Inc, said.

“It made me realize that I can achieve my dreams, you know, and I can make it happen,” Tamani Walker, an alumna of the program added. “And I am good enough to do so.”

Lee instills confidence that these girls can do anything.

“When you come in contact with me, it’s for you to really be whoever you want to be,” Lee said. “That’s it and that’s all.”
