CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad announced the return of Steam in the Valley, featuring a legendary locomotive.
From the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, the Nickel Plate Road Steam Locomotive No. 765 will bring American history back to life. The train is a 2-8-4 Berkshire-type that was built in 1944 by the Lima Locomotive Works. Nickel Plate Road No. 765 served the Nickel Plate Road, which included the New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad, during steam's golden era.
Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society restored the locomotive to operating condition and remains one of the last steam locomotives of its kind still in operation.
The excursions will operate for two weekends, April 25-27 and May 2-4.
