COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Crew recently announced two trades with the San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo FC that will give the club more than $600,000 in General Allocation Money.

The Crew acquired $425,000 and a 2025 International Roster Slot from the San Jose Earthquakes in exchange for defender DeJuan Jones. The money is split between 2025 and 2026, with $175,000 to be received in 2025 and $250,000 in 2026.

Jones came to Columbus through a trade with the New England Revolution on July 31, 2024. He played in 15 MLS regular season matches, seven starts, through the past two seasons. He's scored two goals and one assist. He was also a member of the Crew's 2024 Leagues Cup Championship squad.

In his previous six seasons with New England, Joens recorded 142 league appearances, 127 starts, six goals and 22 assists. He joined the Revolution in the 11th overall pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft.

The Crew also acquired $250,000 in general allocation money from Houston Dynamo FC, $125,000 in 2025 and $125,000 in 2026, in exchange for a 2025 International Roster Slot.
