OHIO — Ohio's primary is on May 6, and the deadline for absentee ballots is approaching.
Absentee ballot applications must be received by local boards of elections by 8:30 p.m. on April 29. The postmark deadline, if being submitted by mail, is May 5, according to the Ohio Secretary of State.
Absentee ballots can also be returned to county boards of election, but must be received by 7:30 p.m. on May 6, according to the Secretary of State's website.
For this primary, one statewide issue will be on the ballot — Issue 2, also known as the "Local Public Infrastructure Bond Amendment." If passed, the amendment would authorize $2.5 billion for the State Capital Improvement program, which would go toward local governments to help with infrastructure projects, such as road repairs.
At local levels, there will be school levies, open seats for city councils, as well as police and fire levies.
Early in-person voting is underway. Here's when you can go cast your vote:
- April 28: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
