Far-right social media account Libs of TikTok shared a video of Rosalyn Sandri, 33, on X to its 4.3 million followers, revealing that she was a teacher at Red Oak Independent School District.

“Would you feel comfortable with this person teaching your kid?” part of the caption read.

In her video originally posted to TikTok, Sandri shared several moments of gender euphoria she experienced that day that she says brought her joy, including being called “ma’am” at a store and her students addressing her by her preferred pronouns, which she said was “incredibly affirming.”

The Trevor Project defines gender euphoria as “satisfaction or joy caused when one’s gendered experience aligns with their gender identity, rather than with the gender they were assigned at birth.”

“My message here is if you have any trans people in your life, it is so easy to show them love, so easy. All you have to do is respect them,” Sandri said. “Something as simple as calling a trans woman ‘ma’am’ could be the thing that completely changes her entire day, it does for me.”

After Sandri’s workplace was publicized, she started to receive death threats, including an email to her school address that told her to eat a bullet, the Dallas Morning News reported

Rep. Brian Harrison, R-Midlothian, reshared Libs of TikTok’s post, calling for Sandri to be terminated “immediately” and said he was in communication with Red Oak ISD.

“Public schools (and the property taxes that fund them) are for education... not leftist indoctrination!” Harrison said in the post.

Sandri resigned Monday after being placed on administrative leave, according to the Dallas Morning News. She told the outlet she felt resignation was necessary in order to protect her students against threats.

In another TikTok video posted after the ordeal, Sandri said that she never got to say goodbye to her students before she left.

“This happened so quickly I was not allowed back in the classroom. The one thing that breaks my heart right now is I will never get to tell all of these students the impact that they have had on me,” Sandri said.

Libs of TikTok called Sandri’s resignation a “big win” for students and parents in Texas.

Last April, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott floated the idea of barring transgender teachers from wearing clothes that don’t conform to traditional gender norms.

The governor brought it up after learning of a chemistry teacher in Carrollton who resigned after a video of him wearing a dress for his school’s spirit day circulated online, though the idea was never formally introduced as a bill.
