AUSTIN, Texas — This year, Austin will host the 14th season of the ATX TV Festival.

The festival, less than two months away, kicks off May 29 through June 1.

Seth Meyers will offer an insider’s perspective on his Emmy-nominated Late Night show, highlighting memorable segments, his approach to political comedy and the satisfaction of creating late-night entertainment.

There will be a reunion for “The Leftovers” — which was filmed in Austin — a “Mad Men” retrospective, a discussion about constructing the complex world of “Andor,” a screening of the independent series “The Long Long Night” from Duplass Brothers Productions and much more.

“People can expect premieres, retrospectives and every TV topic to be discussed in intimate and accessible rooms,” co-founders Caitlin McFarland and Emily Gipson told Spectrum News. “We know that if you love TV we have something for you - whether it’s a reunion like UnReal or The Leftovers, a screening of something new, or an intimate conversation with Seth Meyers, Christine Baranski or Jon Hamm, you can find it at our festival. It is a celebration of TV in all facets.”

Held annually in Austin, Texas, the ATX TV Festival is a production of ATX TV.

“The festival has grown immensely, but also had so many lives! We all know that COVID affected us all, but events in a specific way – so as a result we’ve reinvented ourselves a few times over. Tangibly, we went from steady growth, to virtual, to smaller, through 2 strikes in our industry, to coming back to more and different venues,” McFarland and Gipson said. “But what’s cool is that the heart of the festival is unchanged.  While we continue to bring in more and more programming, and have more attendees taking over more space in downtown Austin – at our core, the festival has stayed true to the fans and our mantra of being ‘TV Camp for Grownups.’ The community is the central heartbeat of our festival, so this will always be our focus.”

Gipson and McFarland added that the festival fosters a sense of community where attendees, whether with loved ones or solo, easily connect with like-minded fans.
