ST. LOUIS—The Israel Chemicals Ltd. (ICL Group) cut the ribbon for a brand-new Battery Materials Innovation and Qualification (BMIQ) Center in St. Louis.

ICL Group built the $20 million innovation hub is on its Carondelet campus. It’s the first facility of its kind in the United States and advances the ICL Group’s mission to lead the battery materials space, per ICL Group.

“A place where cutting-edge R&D and real-world production come together,” stated ICL Group in its social media post. “It’s been designed to accelerate discovery, fast-track customer solutions and prove out technologies are scalable while directly supporting ICL’s growing LFP production in North America.”

They declare BMIQ is more than a facility with 1MT pilot batch capabilities and complete process simulation lines.

“It’s a collaborative tool to harness the power of people and partnership. A place to innovate together, test new chemistries, like LMFP, and bring ideas to market faster.”
