VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Central Florida residents have until April 11 to apply for the Florida Division of Emergency Management’s Elevate Florida program.
Elevate Florida is a statewide residential mitigation program offering financial assistance for projects such as home elevations, wind retrofits and reconstruction.
The department will not accept applications after 7 p.m. on that Friday. Homeowners who have not submitted their applications yet are encouraged to take the following steps:
Create an account or log into an existing account on the Elevate Florida website.
Begin a new application or continue a draft application. To access a saved draft, click the Status tab and select the hyperlinked Tracking Number.
Review all sections of the application to ensure all required fields are completed.
Upload all necessary documents to support the application. These may include photos of the structure from all four sides; insurance declaration pages; elevation certificates; geotechnical reports or soil studies; structural integrity assessments; photos showing flooding or high-water marks; insurance claim information; any substantial damage determination letters from local government; and the most recent federal tax return to verify combined household income.
Double-check all contact and personal information for accuracy.
Click “Submit” to complete the application.
Once submitted, applicants will be contacted by an assigned case manager.
