Kauai County’s Public Works Solid Waste Division reminds residents of its Household Hazardous Waste events scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 29 and 30 at four locations.
Saturday locations:
- Hanapepe Base Yard at 4380 Lele Road
- Kapaa Base Yard at 4900 Kahau Road
Sunday locations:
- Anaina Hou Community Park behind Kauai Mini Golf at 5-2723 Kuhio Highway
- Kauai Resource Center at 3460 Ahukini Road in front of the Lihue Refuse Transfer Station
Automotive products, lead-acid batteries, lawn and garden products, oil-based paints, thinners and stains, fluorescent lights, batteries and other items will be accepted.
Items that will not be accepted include eWaste, propane tanks, medical waste, latex paint, tires, used motor oil, fireworks, ammunition and flares.
The events are for residents only. Businesses, government agencies, nonprofits and farmers will be turned away.
