ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo.—The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s office charged Christopher Moriarty, 43, from Imperial, Missouri, with 14 sex crimes involving five children. He’s behind bars and being held without bond. Investigators believe there may be additional victims.

According to the probable cause statement, filed by a county detective, interviews with five victims revealed graphic details of various incidents. These accounts allege Moriarty of touching the victims sexually, disrobing victims, suggesting victims perform sexual acts on each other at his home among other things.

Moriarty also provided substances to victims including alcohol, marijuana and vape supplies, in exchange to witness them perform sexual acts, according to the detective. A victim recounted a camera in the room of these alleged sexual acts.


Charges against Moriarty

  • Four counts of enticement or attempted enticement of a child
  • Three counts of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy – deviate sexual intercourse
  • One First offense possession of child pornography
  • One endangering the welfare of a child creating substantial risk in the first degree
  • Three sexual misconduct involving a child under 15
  • One child molestation in the third degree
  • One count of statutory rape or attempted statutory rape in first degree of a person less than 14 years old

Investigators say Moriarty used social media to contact the victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Louis County Police Department at 314-615-5400 and the St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Special Investigations detectives are handling the investigation.  

The county reminds the public that charges are accusations and Moriarty is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.

Moriarty will be in a Jefferson County court on April 2, 2025, for a Bond Review hearing.
