ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officer was struck on Interstate 70 near Shreve this morning. 

MoDOT cameras showed traffic backed up for miles at Riverview and Jennings.

SLMPD sent out the alert on X, formerly Twitter.

The officer was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials said the officer's injuries are critical.
