BUFFALO, N.Y. — The change in weather impacts all of us in different ways. For some, it makes joints stiffer. For others, maybe they're more tired.
Have you ever noticed how your eating habits change with the weather? Rachel Simson, a Buffalo dietitian and nutritionist, helps find out why.
What we eat comes down to the molecular level. It makes us happy, releasing dopamine. What you crave could point to what your body is deficient in. Simson says most of us aren't eating enough fiber or protein. Simson adds you don't have to cut out the chips and cookies. Instead, focus on portion control.
You could always make "apple nachos" for comfort with apples, one tablespoon of melted peanut butter and some chocolate chips. Other options include chocolate peanut butter protein balls or air-fried carrots.
