“Just kind of took me back, you know,” said Stephanie Whitt, a former KDC/ONE employee

Stephanie Whitt says she not only has family that works in the area, but used to work at KDC/One where the shooting happened.

“After I heard the news, I imagined the inside of the building that I’ve seen before and was just like, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t believe something like that happened in New Albany,’” she said.

Since learning about the shooting this morning, Whitt can’t even fathom how the victims and their families are doing.

“You think about maybe there’s people there that I know, you know, that still work there and maybe it impacted them in some way,” she said. “And I just said a little prayer for everybody.”

The incident now has Whitt worried about her family and their safety.

“My daughter works in New Albany, so, you know, just it just makes you think, like, what if, you know, something could happen,” Whitt said. “And it just kind of makes you think twice.”

But she has faith in this community.

“New Albany is a strong community, and KDC is a good company. They’ll get through this,” she said.

Until then, Whitt sends her condolences to the victims and their families.
