The MTA has rolled out an online dashboard that tracks the number of vehicles entering Manhattan’s congestion pricing zone each day.
Data enthusiasts can filter vehicle crossings by date, entry time — including peak and overnight hours — entry point and type of vehicle.
The tracker also shows how many drivers enter lower Manhattan via roadways that are exempt from the congestion pricing toll.
“This dataset is the first of a series related to the congestion relief zone tolling program,” Juliette Michaelson, the MTA’s deputy chief of policy and external relations, said in a statement Thursday.
“We look forward to seeing what other stakeholders can do with the data, as we do with all of the nearly 150 datasets the MTA publishes,” Michaelson added.
The transit agency unveiled its tracker a day after releasing data that showed approximately 30,000 fewer vehicles have driven below 60th Street in Manhattan per weekday in January compared to the MTA’s baseline estimate for an average January weekday.
The data also showed the tolling program has reduced travel times into the congestion zone during the morning rush.
