National Park Service law enforcement officers are investigating a hit-and-run incident that took place on Tuesday morning in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and encourage anyone with information to come forward.

At approximately 9:20 a.m., a bicyclist was severely injured after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 11 and the road to Namakanipaio Campground.

The bicyclist is a 70-year-old male from Volcano.

According to a news release, witnesses describe the vehicle as a “gold-colored sedan.”
