AUSTIN, Texas — What’s better than catching one of Austin’s most iconic musicians live over the holidays? Seeing him for free.
Domain NORTHSIDE this week announced Austin’s acclaimed Gary Clark Jr. will be part of its free concert series on Friday, Dec. 13.
The performance will celebrate the opening of BUMPSUIT, a maternity brand, and will additionally feature a pop-up bar by Grimaldi’s, yard games and photo opportunities.
“After spending our summer on tour as a family with Gary and his band, we are excited to end the year at Domain NORTHSIDE to coincide with the opening of our BUMPSUIT store,” said Nicole Trunfio, wife to Clark Jr. and creator of BUMPSUIT.
The show will take place on Domain Boulevard, next to Vuori and across the street from the new BUMPSUIT storefront. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30.
Clark Jr. is a multi-instrumentalist who fuses blues, rock, soul and hip hop. Born and raised in Austin, Clark took up the guitar at age 12 and gigged throughout his teens.
Clark later began playing with musicians including Jimmie Vaughan. In 2011, he released the “The Bright Lights” EP. In 2012, he recorded with Alicia Keys and that same year released his major label debut, “Blak and Blue.”
Clark won a Grammy for the song “Please Come Home” in 2014. In 2020, he won two Grammy Awards for the song “This Land” from the album “JPEG Raw.” He continues to tour nationally and internationally.
