Dozens of teenagers in the city are getting a chance to tap into their entrepreneurial side.
About 100 area high school students attended the "Youthpreneur Summit 2024" at York College in Jamaica, Queens Saturday.
Organized by the nonprofit Showing Hearts Foundation, the summit is designed to give young people the courage and confidence to start their own business while still in school.
In addition to gaining valuable entrepreneurial skills, the kids heard from motivational speakers and community leaders about finding their passion in life.
Students spoke about the opportunities this program has presented for them.
The teens also competed in a contest to see who could come up with the best business idea.
Up to $10,000 in prices were handed out.
Spectrum was a proud sponsor of the event.
